This is the first in a regular series featuring maps created using ProFantasy's software. Click on the map to see a larger image.

Map Creator: This map was created by Grimur Fjelsted of Mapventures. He's done some amazing work, featured on his website.

Map Title: Harabar
"A map of the Savage Kingdoms of the North. In my gaming group, we felt we needed a new challenge and decided to explore a new region of our campaign world. It´s a viking setting, based on the early kingdoms of Denmark."

Creation Details: Grimur created this map using CC3 combined with Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland. It uses the SS1 Fantasy A style, with symbols created by Sean McDonald. The text is very nicely placed, with frequent use of curved text. The effects are used subtly. If you want to create a map like this, use the New Drawing Wizard, select Overland Maps, then choose SS1 Fantasy A, and use the drawing tools and symbols provided.

Symbol Set 1 for CC3 is now available. I posted some sample artwork in this entry. You can find our more about SS1 version 3 here. Upgrades are available for existing customers, and if you bought in the last year, it's free.

Currently there is no Dundjinni or Fractal Mapper version, but we'll get those done early next month.

uthoroc has produced some maps from the new symbols for Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland. With the new drawing tools, the maps didn't take too long. Here are the samples. The second example was produced using the vector symbols in the original SS1, which now split across two sheets, allow effects to work on the coloured elements of the symbols.

I've made the Dungeon Designer Pro, Symbol Set 1, Symbol Set 2 and CC3 version 3.02 updates, and passed them over the Mark Fulford to create the installations, which might be a little tricky.

The new Symbol Set 1 includes multi-sheet overland symbols in handdrawn format to make it easy to create symbols with water-color style coloring in.

Dungeon Designer Pro and Symbol Set 2 use this feature to allow you to add room and corridor geomorphs which go on the correct sheet without additional effort, allowing you to add effects without exploding and move symbol sections between sheets.
