We had a great Dragonmeet. Well done to Angus, who came through despite illness. ProFantasy did well; there was a brisk trade in Cartographer's Annuals, and Ralf was kept on his toes (or on his bum?) doing CC3 demos. We sold all forty of the Trails of Cthulhu we brought, six before the trade hall was even open, and Jerome was kind enough to draw a picture in every one - a real collectable. We sold a lot of Play Unsafe from the stand, too. It was by far our best Dragonmeet in terms of sales overall.
I had the pleasure of meeting the Yog-Sothoth crowd, although I found Paul of Cthulhu's interview a little disconcerting, purely because it was all "lights, camera, action" rather than a podcast. Steve has his Esoterrorists and Fear Itself demo technique honed, and the Trail of Cthulhu session he ran went well, the GUMSHOE investigative system sitting neatly in the background.
Cubicle 7 announced their sterling license, Doctor Who, which is probably the only property where writers might bid to be allowed to contribute. It's a great coup made possible in part by Fred Hick's extraordinary work on the presentation document they showed to the BBC. It was a pleasure to chat with Fred about IPR matters, and he is gently twisting my arm to pre-release Trail of Cthulhu on IPR with the PDF. Currently, I have cold feet, but I may be persuaded.
The charity auction made over £1500, and the top two items were the forthcoming Dark Heresy from Game Workshop, and Trail of Cthulhu #1 with Jerome's amazing Necronomicon artwork. These items alone raised £200 each. Thank you, generous Dragonmeet punters (and Angus)!

I'll be at Dragonmeet this year with Ralf uthoroc for ProFantasy Software, and Jérome and Sasha pond823 for Pelgrane Press. Give me a shout out if you are going to be there. For ProFantasy, we have some advanced copies the Cartographer's Annual. This consists of all of Ralf's work on the subscription site over the year as a single product. It's extremely good way of getting a variety of attractive maps done in a short time.

We have 40 advanced, specially printed copies of Trail of Cthulhu which arrived in the nick of time. I had to find the super-secret UPS overlord number to stop them being sent back to the State. gbsteve will be running GUMSHOE demos most of the day.

Trail of Cthulhu will be released in January 2008. It will be a two-colour 246 page hardback on matt art paper, notch bound.
It looks lovely, includes Robin Law's GUMSHOE system and this is a book that only Ken Hite could have written. A sample character sheet is available here.
We are doing a short print-on-demand run of 40 available only at Dragonmeet on 1st December, and Jérome will be there to sign them if anyone wants it.

Excellent though GenCon Indie is, I think Spiel 2007 would have a case against GenCon for "The Best Four Days in Gaming". It's certainly the biggest, with over 150,000 visitors. A Euro GenCon could fit in a side hall - now that's an idea.
Profantasy has attended for a few years now, and we do about as well there as we do at Origins. It's also a good chance for uthoroc to connect with the large contingent of German CC3 users. If you are there, say hi to Ralf from me, and if you spot Colin slacking off, please let me know. We're in hall 6, stand 39. That's Hall 6 of 12 freaking great halls. Did I say it was big?

I haven't been to GenCon in the States since the first Indie, and I'm really looking forward to it. You can find Pelgrane Press and ProFantasy Software on stand 1921, opposite the art show. We've planned lots of great events, and we are releasing three new products. We'll also have The Esoterrorists, Fear Itself, and the complete Dying Earth range, as well as a preview of Trail of Cthulhu. Robin D Laws will be at the stand for signings and chit chat. Grab the chance to get your signed limited edition of The Birds first thing when the hall opens. | Thursday | 10 AM | 11 AM | | Friday | 4 PM | 5 PM | | Saturday | 3 PM | 4 PM | | Sunday | 11 AM | Noon |
gbsteve will be running half-hour demos of Fear Itself and Esoterrorists on Friday and Saturday afternoons. Kenneth Hite and Robin D Laws will be available on Saturday afternoon between 3 PM and 4 PM for a Trail of Cthulhu Q&A session. If you are able to come to the Q&A or are interested in the demo, please let me know,

I'm pleased to announce that Mystic Moo returns to See Page XX with her amazing Convention Guide. With her extraordinary insight into the Universal Whatnot, she will tell you what to expect at GenCow, or any other gaming convention you might attend.
