For Shadows Over Filmland, a new Trail of Cthulhu adventure series, Jee is working on a silver screen style with spooky lighting and dry ice. Here's an example from his blog:

Edit: As Robin points out in the comments, I mis-titled this. I'll save the "GSL Goodness" for another day.

Interior art for Mutant City Blues. Someone bearing an peculiar resemblance to serpentstar apprehends a suspect.

An example from one of our beta testers (Robert J Defendi) of a quick City Designer 3 map using Sean Thomas's style. The shadows on the ground don't currently match the roof, but that'll be fixed shortly.

Here is Jerome's cover for the forthcoming GM's Resource Book and Screen. Simon Carryer, who wrote three excellent articles for See Page XX has produced the first draft of the resource book. For abilities and occupations it includes historical information, practices, equipment, clues and special benefits for point spends, as well as a collection of useful NPCs .

I received these images from Mark Walker. He has created these extraordinary Lovecraftian artefacts using a combination of printing and reprinting, pasting images (no, not using software) creating entire scripts as AutoCAD blocks, and paper ageing techniques. I've made a number of suggestions, but if you have any ideas as to how Mark might sell his work, by all means post here, or contact him.

We are working on CD3, but in the meantime, here is an update on Joe Slayton's lighting filter:

Jerome has been working on artwork for Mutant City Blues, our forthcoming GUMSHOE release. Here are a couple of images.
I'd really like to go to town on MCB the way I have for Trail; but I simply don't know if I can sell enough copies to justify an offset print run. At the moment I'm planning a large monochrome paperback, but I'd prefer a blue/black duotone smythe-sewn hardback. Unless I can think of some super-clever plan worthy of Prof X, it will be the triumph of experience over hope.

It seems everyone and their dog has a different idea about GM's screens. I haven't ever done one before. But, 7eme Cercle our French publishing partners tell me that the French are mad for them. They also prefer the traditional 3-leaf portrait model, as it's much easier to print, and the landscape version has not proved popular. In addition, Jérome hit me with this rough for the screen, unsolicited, and it's delicious, so that's what I am going with. It will be finished and coloured.

For the interior booklet I have commissioned Simon Carryer, who wrote three excellent transport articles for Page XX will be doing the interior contents - something useful for the GM. For every investigative ability, we will include some time-appropriate technology and techniques, equipment, sample clues, and some special benefits. For academic abilities, there'll be suggested societies and journal where an Investigator might submit articles. We'll have a collection of NPCs, contacts, mentors, cult leaders, thugs and cultists, and supporting cast (bureaucrats, villagers, guides, etc), each with their own three-point tell.
Valerie at 7eme Cercle is also keen to have an adventure. This will be set in Paris, and we will translate it back into English. I'm not sure if we'll have enough space for it with the screen, but I'll consider it.

I will eventually release the Trail of Cthulhu as a PDF. When to do it is a delicate matter, but I always have in mind that I can't unrelease it. So, it will be at least six months before I release the PDF. However, I will say this, anyone pre-ordering ToC will get a PDF when the PDF is released.
Commercial break over, and I move on to our first Trail of Cthulhu release, Stunning Eldritch Tales, a collection of four adventures written by robin_d_laws. I was looking for a pulp cover to match the pulp name. This shows the art currently in development. Again, it is Jerome, this time attempting a brand-new technique and genre. The art brief was:
( spoiler alert )
First rough:

Second Rough:
After consulting some more Pulp source material, Jerome came up with this - much more dynamic. Just got to find a way to include the third sinister figure looking at the viewer:

Jerome Huguenin, the who has created the layout and art for many Pelgrane books including Trail of Cthulhu, has been working on some proof-of-concept symbols for ProFantasy's Symbol Set 3 for CC3. Here is an export from CC3. There are no doors or windows yet, so there's no way out. Jerome is doing an outlined version of the symbols, too. The original map is from Profane Miracles, a forthcoming Esoterrorists release.

Jerome's cover for Lenny's Esoterrorists adventure*.

*I was hoping Lenny was going to write more material for us, but his mom said it was too scary for him. He's gone to bed with his My Little Pony.

A new style of art for Albion's Ransom. Jérome is rather versatile. (Incidentally, I'm rather proud of my subject for this post.)

Robin Laws has looked over Ken Hites's Trail of Cthulhu manuscript, and has gone doolally*. I called in our resident alienist to look him over, and I had no choice but to commit him to the Pelgrane Asylum. There is no chance of course that it will affect Jérome or I, of course, for we are stalwart Europeans.
I'm going to be all out of freelancers at this rate.
*I believe that's the medical term
