Trail of Cthulhu Sales

All the Trails of Cthulhu destined for the distribution are now sold. ACD swooped in nabbed the last hundred or so from Aldo while I was away. If stocks dwindle, I'll keep an eye on channels on line and highlight those retailers who still have stock. For example, Leisure Games in London and End Game in California. If you are retailer stocking Trail, you might consider posting here.

IPR and Pelgrane have 71 left between them for direct sale in the US. I've got about 50 in the UK.  Chaosium have none (and I shipped them 100), which is pretty spectacular.

So, basically, woot! 2000 copies sold, pretty much.

Because the Trail printer found it difficult to deal with a foreign company (they insisted initially on invoicing me for tax and I wouldn't pay until they corrected it), the reprint won't be for a few weeks.

I've got to choose between another 1000, or else 1500 for the next print run. Tough decision. It's just south of $2 difference per copy.

Go with the 1,500. With all the great new material coming out, and Gen Con looming, I think you'll need them.

Yeah, I would definitely push for 1500; my expectation is that this will do well in the long tail even if the short tail doesn't eat all of those 1500 right off. :)

Your product rocketed to the #7 spot on IPR. It's going to be sitting in the top 20 list for a long time.

Well done.

If the choice is between 1000 or 1500 I'd go with the 1500 copies as we've maintained very solid sales of the book and with the new material you have planned I doubt you'll have trouble shifting them.

Simon, thanks for the ToC PDF offer. Just ordered it along with Stunning Eldritch Tales ... which I suppose was kind of the point of the offer :)

Cheers

Sam

My copy of Stunning Eldritch Tales arrived 2 days after I ordered from Pelgrane. Excellent work on the postage front, Simon. Super looking book as well, can't wait to get into it.

Thanks

Sam

Pandemonium Books in Cambridge MA has copies on the Shelf presently, though they are likely to go in the next week or so from the way they sold off the first time. Folks in the Boston area might want to drop by and get theirs while they can.

If you've accounted for the first print already, I don't think you'll have problems shifting another 1,500. Cthulhu is one of the big brand names in RPG terms and releasing new supplements usually creates a buzz that the game is doing well, prompting new customers. The buzz trails off after a while, but I think 1,500 is a safe number based on sales to date.

No doubt, go for it! I just got my own printed copy, what's a bit tough right here, in Poland, but after few minutes spent on thumbing I can say only these words: "Nice work, VERY nice work." Keep evolving the system, it's really worth it.
