Visual interactivity
Peter Olsson, who does much of the programming work for ProFantasy has been working on his own Swedish electrical application, and in the course of that developed some user interactivity features which could in theory be incorporated into CC3. Here is a screen shot of what a circle command might look like.

Note that the command prompt is present at the drawing cursor. The interactive window reacts to key strokes, and it could display properties information (for example for a drawing tool). If the cursor moves over it, it disappears. Peter has also worked on some interactive right click features which are object sensitive, which we might be able to incorporate into CD3, given the development time.

Great idea

I'd love to see this, Simon. As a casual user of CC3, I find I have to constantly be referring to documentation to know what to do next with each command. Having it as an option to be "Walked through" each aspect of a command would be a huge time saver to me.

Yes please!

Seems Like a GREAT idea

I would love to see this implemented. However for the more advance users maybe have an option in the preferences menu to turn if off?
but for the casual/newish users I think this would GOOOOO a long way to making it easier to use!

We'd give the option to turn it off.

DDF

In theory you could have CC3 'broadcast' the command that the user has invoked as a DDF server and have a DDF client (whose job it would be to show directions) listen for the invocation and update another window accordingly. The DDF client would show text, pictures, whatever was 'keyed' to the command that the user selected. It would be like a personal assistant who could be turned on and off. Add-ons for CC3 that add new commands would add a new 'book' for the client and you're off to the races.

Or you could have a crack assembler programmer do something ten times sexier.

About rivers

I'd like to ask about rivers: When I'm drawig river, the river is still same thick, even if the river is across a half of the continent. Is there any option to set starting and ending thick for rivers? For example, 0 at the spring and 2 miles at the estuary? That would be really useful.

Type "river width" into the Search tab of the Help file for two methods to do this.

The Tome of Ultimate Mapping update
(Anonymous)

I would like to know if there is planned to update the Tome of Ultimate Mapping for CC3 (and DD3, CD3 etc.) in this year. It is still a great source of knowledge, especially in creating of macros. However, it is quite out-of-date nowadays...
