Dragonmeet
We had a great Dragonmeet. Well done to Angus, who came through despite illness. ProFantasy did well; there was a brisk trade in Cartographer's Annuals, and Ralf was kept on his toes (or on his bum?) doing CC3 demos. We sold all forty of the Trails of Cthulhu we brought, six before the trade hall was even open, and Jerome was kind enough to draw a picture in every one - a real collectable. We sold a lot of Play Unsafe from the stand, too. It was by far our best Dragonmeet in terms of sales overall.
I had the pleasure of meeting the Yog-Sothoth crowd, although I found Paul of Cthulhu's interview a little disconcerting, purely because it was all "lights, camera, action" rather than a podcast. Steve has his Esoterrorists and Fear Itself demo technique honed, and the Trail of Cthulhu session he ran went well, the GUMSHOE investigative system sitting neatly in the background.
Cubicle 7 announced their sterling license, Doctor Who, which is probably the only property where writers might bid to be allowed to contribute. It's a great coup made possible in part by Fred Hick's extraordinary work on the presentation document they showed to the BBC. It was a pleasure to chat with Fred about IPR matters, and he is gently twisting my arm to pre-release Trail of Cthulhu on IPR with the PDF. Currently, I have cold feet, but I may be persuaded.
The charity auction made over £1500, and the top two items were the forthcoming Dark Heresy from Game Workshop, and Trail of Cthulhu #1 with Jerome's amazing Necronomicon artwork. These items alone raised £200 each. Thank you, generous Dragonmeet punters (and Angus)!
